ULSAN OJT’s COMPLETE OLFU INTERNSHIP
March 31,2017

It was short but, for Soo Min Bae, it was the best experience of her life; this she expressed as her three-week internship at Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) culminated in a Center for Quality Management (CQM) Conference Room on February 17, 2017.  "Best experience ever in my life. If I had a job in here, I will be very happy," Bae wrote in her exit survey. Bae is just one of the 20 Koreans from Ulsan College of South Korea who participated in an internship program at OLFU’s Valenzuela Campus.

The overseas exposure program and others like it are coordinated by OLFU’s Center for Professional Development and Academic Partnership (CPDAP) as part of its international partnership agreements with foreign higher educational institutions.

Ulsan College (UC) sent 20 students for practicum at OLFU’s College of Nursing, College of Physical Therapy and College of Dentistry, as well as at the Fatima University Medical Center. This three-week program is a fruition of OLFU’s and UC’s common direction to globalize education for their learners.

OLFU’s esteemed College Deans graced the “graduation” celebration where they delivered words of congratulations and well-wishes to the Koreans. These were: Nursing’s Dr. Lurceli Santos, Dentistry’s Dr. Arturo De Leon and Physical Therapy’s Mary Anne R. Santos. Dr. De Leon, in his welcome remarks, redefined “ULSAN” by stating that it stands for “Unity and Love Spreading  Across  Nations.”

In behalf of the Ulsan students, John Park of the Lasallian Language Center, the main logistical coordinator of the students’ trip to the Philippines, thanked OLFU for facilitating a thoroughly happy and productive immersion for the students in the Philippines.  “We thank OLFU for welcoming us here and we were treated as family,” Park said.

The Korea-based Ulsan College is a private educational institution with two campuses located in Ulsan City. The city is reputed to be the most powerful city in South Korea, being the home base of the Hyundai group of companies which coincidentally is a major financial sponsor of the college.
