Civil Eng’g Institute stages Regional Meet and Student Contest at OLFU Pampanga

The PICE Regional Meet 2018 was held on 08 September 2018 at Our Lady of Fatima University- Pampanga Campus. PICE stands for the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, and the said conference specifically was an undertaking of the country’s Region 3.


Activities included were the 37th National Civil Engineering Students Quiz (NCESQ)  Regional Elimination, the Bridge Design Competition, and the PICE Region III Blood Letting.


The said event was hosted by PICE Pampanga officers hand-in-hand with OLFU’s Dean of the College of Engineering, Engr. Oliver Celis. The leaders from the PICE Pampanga Chapter were: President- Engr. Mark Vincent Nodado; Director- Engr. Ernesto Villarica (and also Program Head of OLFU’s College of Engineering, and 1st Vice President- Engr. Gascon.


Serving as coordinators from PICE were: Region III Coordinator, Engr. Michael David; National Secretary- Engr. April Agatha Flores, and National Director for Student Affairs- Engr. Ixopero Bonzon.


The NCESQ or civil engineering quiz was open to all PICE Student Chapter members in good standing, and who were validated as current enrollees, and are foreseen to remain enrolled until November 2018 under the Bachelor of Science program in Civil Engineering. 43 students from 18 schools participated in the National Quiz. Bulacan State University emerged as the Champion.


Quiz participants were the: Angeles University Foundation, Araullo University, Asia Pacific College of Advance Studies, Aurora State College of Technology; Baliuag Univesity, Bataan Heroes Memorial College, Bataan Peninsula Memorial College, Bulacan State University, Central Luzon State University, Columban College, Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University, Holy Angel University, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, Our Lady of Fatima University- Pampanga, Ramon Magsaysay Technological University, Republic Central Colleges, and Tarlac State University.


On the other hand, the Bridge Design Competition saw 30 participants coming from 18 schools. The Aurora State College of Technology was declared as the top prize winner.
