Beijing Dongfang University, China

Our Lady of Fatima University entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation with Beijing Dongfang University of China. Beijing Dongfang University sought the help of OLFU in drafting their Nursing curriculum. To add, OLFU will draft a curriculum that will enable Beijing Dongfang University students to study one year in China and finish their education in OLFU.


Human Resources
University, Cambodia

Our Lady of Fatima University also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Human Resources University (HRU) from Cambodia wherein both universities agree to improve the educational experiences of their own students in the field of Business Administration, Tourism and Hotel Management, and Economics. HRU and OLFU also talked about an agreement for the Graduate School program in Cambodia.




Kabul Medical University, Afghanistan

Sought the help of Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Remigia Nathanielsz on how to start their own nursing curriculum.  Kabul Medical University is a governmental and autonomic university which provides an optimum, advanced, comprehensive, timely and free medical education.

 It is a learning center powered by Ministry of Higher Education which holds about 2700 students from PCB to clerkship in four of its divisions that include Curative, Pediatrics, Stomatology, and the newly established Nursing faculty.

Lan Yang Institute of Technology, Taiwan

A Memorandum of Agreement entered into by Lan Yang Institute and OLFU for academic exchange and cooperation allows students to study in OLFU for 3 yrs and 1 yr in Lan Yang.  

Founded in 1966 and named Fushin Junior College of Technology. In 1983, it was renamed Fushin Institute of Technology, recruiting five-year and two-year program students. The School of Continuing Education was accredited in 1997. In 2001, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of both four-year and two-year college programs and FIT was thus upgraded and renamed to Lan Yang Institute of Technology.

Magna Carta College, UK
Professor David Faulkner, Dean Emeritus of Magna Carta College of United Kingdom was welcomed by the OLFU community as he spoke on ‘Cross-Cultural Issues in the Globalized World’.  The lecture touched on the benefits of completing undergraduate courses and graduate programs in the UK.  

Royal Canadian Institute of Technology, Canada
The Royal Canadian Institute of Technology of Canada paved an opening for OLFU to partner with the Institute through Dr. Yourie Pankratz.  The good doctor encouraged OLFU to have an exchange of students and technology with the Institute.








Ministry of Health, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Ms. Monera Al-Osaimi of the Ministry of Health of KSA and the Honorable Fahad S. Al-Msaibeeh, Employment Attache of KSA visited OLFU to open talks for a partnership wherein OLFU would be able to conduct the required training for nurses seeking employment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.





2009 Linkages


Microsoft
Recent agreements between Microsoft and OLFU’s College of Computer Studies have reaped rewards:  OLFU is now an officially accredited Microsoft IT Academy and a member of MSDN Academic Alliance (MSDNAA).  

As a MSDN Academic Alliance member, OLFU’s College of Computer Studies has access to over 300 latest Microsoft servers and development tools, providing a myriad of Microsoft applications for their students to learn and explore.  

Students may install software on their personal computer to use for their coursework, learning and research.  Faculty members also reap benefits with the University’s membership in MSDNAA as they have access to a community web that features teaching resources.

Mudanjiang Medical University, China
Mudanjiang University in Northeast China offers medical and allied medical courses to more than 8,000 students; it is affiliated with more than 13 hospitals and was awarded by the Chinese Government, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Public Health for its exemplary performance in teaching which have resulted in the outstanding performance of its graduates.  

The OLFU-Mudanjiang partnership provides inroads to the exchange of ideas and skills as faculty from both Universities will serve as guest lecturers and speakers in the other’s University.  This exchange of faculty and lecturers, of ideas and skills, will not only benefit students but will consequently result in the advancement of course programs and research projects as both Universities set a high value on research and program development.

Shijianzhuang Center Hospital, China

Under the provincial government of Hebei, China, Shijiazhuang Center
Hospital was originally called Shijiazhuang Railway Center Hospital. Now under the provincial government of Hebei, China, it was built in 1903 and is now a 600- bed hospital with 27 clinic rooms.

The Memorandum of Agreement with Shijianzhuang Center Hospital provides nurses of the Hospital to take their Graduate Program in Nursing with OLFU’s Graduate School.  



Touch Solutions Inc (Linux Professional Institute)

Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) and Touch Solutions Inc, the only LPI Authorized Training Partner in the Philippines, entered into an exclusive agreement allowing the Linux Professional Institute (LPS) to be integrated into the College of Computer Studies’ curriculum.

Besides being trained in the Linux operating system, students of the College of Computer Studies of OLFU are further trained and exposed to open source softwares solutions.   Graduates of the College will be certified as ‘Professional Linux System, Network & Security Administrators’.  Not a small feat as the Linux operating system is the backbone behind most popular websites; for the layman, this is better appreciated knowing that Linux is the operating system behind Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Friendster, among others.

The partnership between Touch Solutions Inc and OLFU also includes specialized training in Peachtree Accounting for Business Administration students.  

Chiang Mai University, Thailand

Chiang Mai University and OLFU’s College of Dentistry, entered into an Agreement for academic collaboration, the secondment of thesis advisors and project consultants, joint research, faculty staff and student exchange, curriculum development, joint seminars, and information exchange.

Chiang Mai University (CMU) was founded in January 1964, under a Royal Charter granted by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej as the first institution of higher education in Northern Thailand, and is the first provincial university in Thailand. Since its founding, CMU has developed to a comprehensive institution of higher learning providing a broad range of academic programs. In the field of research, CMU has been launching innovative initiatives and development projects, the results of which are utilized to advance standards of teaching,
learning and technology transfer, all for the sake of social and economic development of the region and the country.

Bistro Group of Restaurants

Our Lady of Fatima University (OFLU) and the Bistro Group of Restaurant Concepts, Inc recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement wherein the noted Bistro Grp will accept HRM students of OLFU as practicum-trainees in their different restaurants.

Bistro Group of Restaurant Concepts, Inc is the premiere operator of branded casual dining restaurants in the Philippines.  Brand names that are now part of the Filipino’s list of favorite restaurants include TGI Friday’s, Fish and Company, Italianni’s, Outback Steakhouse and Flapjacks.


Burgoo Restaurant
A Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Our Lady of Fatima University and Burgoo Restaurant.  The MOA allows students from the College of Hospitality & Institutional Management to have their practicum in any of the Burgoo chain of restaurants. Burgoo is an American family casual dining restaurant that offers quality food, legendary service, value for money and cleanliness.

Sbarro Restaurant
Students of the College of Hospitality & Institutional Management take their practicum program in any of the Sbarro Restaurants as Our Lady of Fatima University and MidOcean Partners signed a Memorandum of Agreement.

Started in 1956, the Sbarro Italian Delicatessen in Brooklyn, N.Y. was well received by the local community and was the first of what would grow to become some 1,000 Sbarro restaurants. Today, Sbarro is owned by MidOcean Partners, a premier private equity firm.


2008 Linkages

Qiqihar Medical University, China

An International Cooperation Agreement was entered into by Qiqihar
Medical University and OLFU for advanced studies for Graduates, Faculty
and a Student Exchange Program.  The Agreement was expanded to i
nclude a Student Exchange Program for undergraduates of Medicine,
Nursing and Pharmacy.

Qiqihar Medical University (QMU) is stands by the scenic Nenjiang
River in Heilongjiang Province, China. The University was founded in 1946 with a total area of 1,040,000 square meters. QMU’s building structure has an approximate area of 301,000 square meters. Currently, QMU boasts a staff of 3,453 including 952 professors and associate professors.

Zhejiang Medical College, China

OLFU and Zhejiang Medical College in China signed an Educational Exchange Cooperation in the field of Nursing, Medicine and Public Health Management. The exchange may involve the visiting of professors and other administrative staff from both parties.






Dalian Medical University, China

Dalian Medical University and OLFU entered into an Agreement with OLFU for Medical and Nursing students of DMU to be able to study for 2 years in DMU and 2 years in OLFU.  Medical students would have the choice to either take their Clerkship Programs in China or in the Philippines.

DMU is a multi-disciplinary medical university which also offers programs in other fields like arts, science, management, and law.  DMU occupies an area of 1,139,700 square meters, with a floor area of 382,900 square meters. The university now has 25 management organizations, 14 second-level schools, 4 directly affiliated organizations, 5 affiliated hospitals, 3 of which are indirectly under the university, and 38 clinical teaching bases.

Both parties entered into an educational agreement to provide clinical ducational for its students and to provide both hospitals’ staff and facilities to the students.

2007 Linkages

Bethune Medical College, China
Bethune Medical College and OLFU entered into a collaboration agreement wherein students study for three years in Bethune Medical College and one and a half years in OLFU.

Hong Kong University Faculty Of Dentistry

Faculty of Dentistry in Hong Kong is the only Dental Faculty in China where the medium of instruction is English. The strength of their relationships with the university, the professional community, academic colleagues, alumni and industry and, our outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate education programs has enabled the University to become one of the top dental schools in the World.

With the arrival of the 'century of knowledge' the University embarked on a radical reform of the curriculum with emphasis on problem-based learning that imparts skills such as critical thinking, and self directed, life long learning.

This dynamic curriculum is highly regarded and is widely acclaimed.

Through College of Dentistry Dean Arturo de Leon’s hardwork, OLFU and Kangawa Dental College formed a sisterhood alliance that would allow both universities to have a student and professor exchange program.

Jackson Park Hospital, Chicago, USA

The Memorandum of Agreement between OLFU’s College of Medicine and Jackson Park Hospital allows 4th year Medical students to have their Clerkship Program with the latter.  

Students are rotated in different specialties to provide a unique learning experience.

Peninsula Hospital Center, New York, USA

Peninsula Hospital Center in New York partnered with OLFU to implement
a clerkship-to-clerkship program for 4th year medical students to increase
their knowledge and experience in the Hospital and to make them be more competitive in the field of Medicine.

The clerkship program will last for two years per group of students and
they may be assigned to Surgery and Family Medicine and Community Health.
