College of Pharmacy maintains ‘top performing school’ status
Sunday, November 15, 2009

Our Lady of Fatima University College of Pharmacy continues the legacy of producing competent pharmacists as 85% or 23 out of 27 examinees passed the recently concluded Pharmacists Licensure Examination last June 2009 enough to retain the ‘Top Performing School’ status awarded by the Philippine Regulatory Commission among universities with 15-30 examinees.

Despite the feat, the recent average rating of the university is relatively lower compared to the successive 100% passing rate it has been garnering for the past years, a legacy it has been known for.

According to Mr. Anbel Bautista, Officer-in-Charge of the college, this is the second time that the college garnered an average less than 100%. The first time was last January when it got a 97%. “However, OLFU College of Pharmacy is the only university to qualify in the Category B among schools with 15 to 30 examinees,” Mr. Bautista revealed another reason to be proud of.

Nonetheless, despite the variation in the figures, the college earned the said title for the seventh time conferred during the oath-taking ceremony of the successful examinees at the Fiesta Pavillon of Manila Hotel, Rizal Park, Roxas Boulevard, Manila, on June 29. With this, Mr. Bautista said that the college is very proud of the passers for exerting a collective effort in order to maintain the college’s performance.

He furthered that the gap of communication between the college and the examinees may be attributed to the result. He also stressed out that the four examinees who failed were not fresh graduates of the university and that the students who passed are motivated to hurdle the boards.
