Our Lady of Fatima University favorably completed its ISO 9001:2008 external audit as certified by the AJA Registrars, Inc. The new expanded scope of the certification now covered all levels of educational delivery and was suitably defined as "The Provision of Education and Training at the Basic Education, Vocational/Technical, Undergraduate and Graduate Levels".
This achievement again underlines OLFU's continuing efforts in advancing the University's mandate in addressing its delivery of quality education.
OLFU was granted Autonomous Status last March 2009 by the Commission on Higher Education for its accomplishment to public responsibility and accountability as a higher education institution. Among the criteria for selection and identification of OLFU for autonomy is its outstanding overall performance of graduates in the licensure examinations administered by the Professional Regulations Commission and the Institution's tradion of integrity and untarnished reputation.
Autonomous status allows universities to design their own curricula, offer new programs and put up branches or satellite campuses without having to secure permits, confer honorary degress, and carry out operations without much interference from CHED.
IQuAME A(t) Status
OLFU applied to the Commission on Higher Education for latter's national program called IQuAME (Institutional Quality Assurance through Monitoring and Evaluation) and was granted A(t) status that states that OLFU is recognized as a "Mature Teaching Institution" last February 15, 2009.
Considered parallel to accreditation which is concerned with the outcome of individual programs. IQuAME examines the effectiveness of an institution in its entirety particularly its overall strategic and operational management of academic affairs and other programs and services.
IQuAME A(t) Status is achieved when the institution has quality education as its main business. CHEd looks at the following indicators: Student Scholarships, Equity and Access, Student Services, Relevance of Programs, Networking and Linkages, Extension Programs, Faculty Profile, Use of Information and Communications Technology, and Income Generation. OLFU has achieved flying colors in all of the indicators which in return, granted OLFU the IQuAME status.
