The Our Lady of Fatima University –Pampanga is the only non-sectarian private university at the heart of the province’s capital, the City of San Fernando. The Pampanga Campus is established through the efforts of the University Administrators headed by University President Dr. Caroline Marian S. Enriquez, the University Executive Vice President Mr. Don August O. Santos, and the Board of Trustees.
In their earnest will to extend the mission-vision of “Improving Man as Man” to the Kapampangans, they acquired the East Central Colleges (ECC), an educational institution of higher learning on the 12th of April, 2012 located at B. Mendoza St., Sto. Rosario, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
ECC is a 67-year old educational institution, and began imprinting its legacy of giving affordable and accessible quality education to Pampanga and the nearby regions with only three hundred and twenty-five students. OLFU-Pampanga has its first Administrator in the person of Mrs. Muriel E. Caballero.
Quality education is the benchmark of the University. It is the legacy in which it imprints in every student that enters its portals. Today, Kapampangans do not need to travel far to experience the best education in Metro Manila but is now made closer to them through the Our Lady of Fatima University. Consequently, the Board of Trustees and Administrators developed and improved facilities; that is why, the classrooms, offices and laboratories were re-structured so that the students will experience far-advanced and excellent study areas that would suit the students for quality learning outcomes.
OLFU-Pampanga offers secondary, tertiary education, and vocational courses as well under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). The tertiary programs of ECC-OLFU are Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accountancy, BS in Business Administration with majors in Marketing Management and Human Resource Development Management, BS in Information Technology, BS in Computer Science, BS in Secondary Education with majors in English, Math, History, Filipino, General Science and BS in Civil Engineering. ECC also has associate courses on Computer Technology, Computer Secretarial, and Bookkeeping, graduate school programs such as Master in Business Administration and Master in Public Administration.
Last September 19, 2012, the university reached a new milestone when it conducted the groundbreaking ceremony of its 4th campus and participated in by the members of the Board of Trustees.
On March 1, 2013 the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) granted the Pampanga Campus permit to offer Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science, Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, and Bachelor of Science in Travel Management. The Bachelor of Science in Psychology was granted government recognition on May 12, 2015.
In June of 2013, the second building, Blessed Lucia Building was constructed to house a growing Fatima community.
The succeeding years have been fruitful for the campus as the CHED granted the permit that authorized the Pampanga Campus to operate the Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy on May 12, 2014, Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science on February 25, 2014. On April 10, 2015, the CHED granted Pampanga Campus the permit to operate First Year and Second Year of the Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology.
On July 7, 2015, the Our Lady of Fatima University Pampanga Campus pioneered the program of Bachelor of Science in Culinary Management in the Philippines that was granted by CHED in virtue of the University’s status as an Autonomous Higher Education Institution and in accordance with the pertinent provisions of RA 7722, otherwise known as the “Higher Education Act of 1994.” Due to this increasing number of students and programs, the second building named after Saint Jacinta, was built.
The University did not stop in offering the best for the Kapampangans but it kept committed on improving its services to its students. The Regional Office III of the Department of Education granted the campus permit to operate for its Junior High School (Grade Seven to Grade Ten) on March 26, 2015 replacing ECC under the name of Our Lady of Fatima University - Pampanga.
Hereafter, the Basic Education Department has become an ESC-FAPE accredited educational institution last March 10, 2015. The students of the Junior High School of the campus grew in number hence it became imperative to build the campus’ third building called the Blessed Francisco Building.
On the 28th of July 2015, the Our Lady of Fatima University – Pampanga already replaced the name ‘East Central Colleges’ by the registration granted by the Security and Exchange Commission in Manila.
Even if the campus is only at its third year of operation, its youth did not deter it to offer quality services that would be at par with the international standard. The International Organization for Standardization, an international institution that develops and sets standards, audited the Campus last September 10, 2015 for quality management setting known as the ISO 9001. Through AJA Registrars, the Pampanga Campus of the University was certified with an ISO 9001:2008 for meeting the internationally standardized quality management system that the organization has set.
In October 2015, the campus offered the Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSHRM). This is the result of the autonomous Higher Education Institution status of the University that allows it to offer its courses in Pampanga Campus
The University was granted government permit to operate Senior High School program comes School Year 2016-2017 on the 8th of October 2015. The University’s Senior High School will offer the Academic Track with four strands, namely: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Humanities and the Social Sciences (HumSS), General Academic Strand (GAS), and the Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM). In preparation for the incoming Senior High School students, the University is now constructing its newest building.
Our Lady of Fatima University favorably completed its ISO 9001:2008 external audit as certified by the AJA Registrars, Inc. The new expanded scope of the certification now covered all levels of educational delivery and was suitably defined as "The Provision of Education and Training at the Basic Education, Vocational/Technical, Undergraduate and Graduate Levels".
This achievement again underlines OLFU's continuing efforts in advancing the University's mandate in addressing its delivery of quality education.
