The College of Medical Technology of Our Lady of Fatima University was established in 2000 and soon after was awarded by PASMETH Safeguard Scholarships “MedTech Para Sa Kinabukasan” to four of its students. The College saw its first batch of graduates in 2004; with the same batch garnering 100% passing in the Medical Technology Licensure Board. This achievement was repeated in 2007 and 2008 as they garnered 100% passing in the Boards and even garnered rank 4 and 8.
In 2007, The College of Medical Technology was certified ISO 9001-2000; headed by Mr. AL Sauza of American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Incorporated.
The College of Medical Technology produced a total of eighteen (18) researches in three years: four (4) in 2005, six (6) in 2006 and eight (8) in 2007. Currently, the College has four (4) on going researches in collaboration with students as main researchers and faculty member which serve as research advisers. One research paper conducted by the college of medical technology was presented during the International Research Conference held in Iloilo City last February 27-29, 2008 entitled: “ Antimicrobial Potency of Colloidal silver in Contrast with Commonly Available antibiotic Eyedrops: A Comparative study”. A research paper entitled “Saving our River, Saving our People: A Scientific Investigation for Sustainable Development” was presented at the International Conference on Environmental Education last May 5 to 7, 2008.
With its new curriculum, the College foresees a more intensive theoretical background and a longer internship for its students. A never ending pursuit of excellence in the filed of medical technology. |
